Book Dash is one piece in a giant puzzle of organisations working to get great books to children.

‘Getting beautiful, relevant and accessible books into the hands of children is a sure-fire way of creating readers for many years to come. Book Dash offers an innovative solution to doing what we consider is the most important work – growing generations of book-lovers, wordsmiths and creative thinkers.’—Mignon Hardie, FunDza Literacy Trust

Organisations that give Book Dash books directly to children, ECD centres, schools and children’s libraries include The Shine Centre, Nal’ibali, Wordworks, Biblionef, Room to Read Masikhule, the Pebbles Project, Halli Trust, the Bulungula Incubator, Etafeni Trust, Little Libraries, Read to Rise and more.

The African Storybook Project and Nal’ibali provide translations of many of our books.

In developing Book Dash, we’ve been inspired by the wonderful work of Pratham Books, the African Storybook Project, Book Sprints (whose name we’ve echoed with much respect), Siyavula and others.
