All our children’s books are created in just 12 hours by teams of passionate creative professionals who volunteer their time and skills to bring beautiful, authentic African stories to life.
On Saturday 20 September 2025 we hosted our 24rd Book Dash event at the V&A Waterfront’s Workshop 17.
Ten teams made up of talented writers, illustrators, designers and editors volunteered their time to craft high-quality authentic South African children’s story books.
A huge thank you to all our supporters and funders for making this event possible and for working with us on our vision that ‘every child should own a hundred books by the age of five’.
Book Dash book are freely available for anyone to access worldwide and we have printed and distributed more than 5 million books, enabling families to read with their young children, and set them on the path to success.
